YES you can enjoy the 4th of July with a food allergy or special dietary need. Here are some ideas and recipes for a delicious
Dairy Free and Vegan July 4th celebration sure to set off delicious fireworks!
Summer screams salads! Try my Spirialized Carrot Salad – easy to make and can be served hot or cold!
Curried Tofu Chickpea Salad is a healthy dish that can be served as a salad or sandwhich.
My 3 Bean Pasta Salad is an excellent choice for picnics and made even better with gluten free pasta!
No picnic is complete without potato salad. My version,
Hold the Mayo Potato Salad , offers a healthy twist on an old classic.
Berry Good Salad is refreshing and will add the colors of the 4th to your table!
Many people like to grill in the summer but that doesn’t have to mean burgers and hot dogs which are usually full of dairy fillers. Try a grilled Portobello Mushroom Burger or Pulled BBQ Jack which can be made in advance and in a crock pot.
Desserts can be tricky because so many contain butter and cream. Chocolate Dipped Strawberries are pretty and always a treat. Want ice cream? Of course you do! There are so many varieties of non-dairy ice creams in stores now. Some favorites include Cashew Milk and Coconut Milk Bars from So Delicious and the very interesting flavor combos from Nada Moo and Revolution Gelato. I dare anyone to say this isn’t ice cream!
And you can never go wrong with Watermelon which is naturally dairy free, gluten free and super healthy with lots of Vitamin A, C, B vitamins, lycopene and an inflammation buster. I want a double serving please and I bet you do too!
Happy 4th Everyone and Happy Summer!
