Ocean View Delight in sunny Fort Lauderdale is a cute spot to eat and enjoy views of the beach. The small restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating, offers a large menu with many vegan and gluten free offerings. Breakfast can be ordered from opening to close.
When I visited with my husband we had just arrived in Fort Lauderdale and were not overly hungry, but definitely needed something to tide us over till dinner. The waitress had knowledge of the menu but I was pleased to speak with the owner and cook to fully understand how food would be prepared in order to be food allergy safe. I was assured that there was a separate cooking area for vegan food.
I ordered the Fire Roasted Eggplant Salad which is tossed with tomato, onion, green pepper, cucumber, parsley, walnuts, olive oil and lemon. I expected the salad to be served warm but to my surprise, and delight, it was cold and refreshing. The eggplant was chopped so finely that I could almost not see it! But It was there and the flavor combo of this salad was excellent and something I am hoping to recreate at home. I also enjoyed the presentation!
Dean ordered the Falafel Pita Sandwich served with lettuce, tomato, onions, cucumbers and tzatziki sauce. It was tasty and just the right size.
Definitely search out Ocean View Delight if you are in Fort Lauderdale. Its extensive menu offers something for everyone.
