The Coffee Shop Where Everyone Knows Your Name

The Orange Cat in Lewiston New York is the type of place you go where everybody knows your name! This quaint coffee and bakery shop is located in a historic building in picturesque Lewiston. My husband and I discovered it several years ago as we were walking through Lewiston and decided we wanted some coffee. I noticed right away big, beautiful cookies on the counter and asked how they were made. To my delight the staff said they’re vegan, everything here is vegan. I almost passed out! Since then Dean and I come here every Sunday and we have met people who have become friends and part of our Sunday ritual.

There are six coffees brewing at all times at the Orange Cat:

2 regulars, 2 flavored and 2 decafs. We love the flavored coffees and have become addicted to the Orange Cat that we buy all our beans from the OC so that we can have its freshly brewed coffee on days other than Sunday.

I’ve had every variety of scone and muffin the OC offers and especially love the Cranberry Orange, Dutch Apple, and Blueberry muffins. For scones the loaded Blueberry is my favorite.

Lunch is available at the OC every day and on weekdays homemade soup is part of the lunch menu. I wish they had soup on the weekends as I would definitely get it, especially on a cold day. There are a variety of sandwiches, wraps, salads on the lunch menu. The Bistro Sandwich, made with tofu, is especially delicious and the salads are always fresh and crisp.

Be sure to visit the Orange Cat -703 Center Street, Lewiston, NY 14092 -the next time you are in Lewiston. You will not be disappointed and you may make some new friends!
